Privacy Policy
StoreSentry ("we", "us") operates the website storesentry.app and the StoreSentry competitor-monitoring service. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
1. Information we collect
- Waitlist email. If you join our early-access list, we store the email address you provide, plus the date and the IP address of the request (for spam prevention).
- Basic visit analytics. We record anonymous page views. We do not use cookies or third-party trackers. Visitor IP addresses are one-way hashed with a daily-rotating value, so we can count unique visitors for a day without storing or being able to recover your IP.
- Service data (once the product launches). When you use the StoreSentry app, we store the competitor store URLs you choose to monitor and your alert settings, so we can send you the alerts you asked for.
2. What we do not collect
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No payment card data — billing (once live) is handled by the Shopify App Store or a PCI-compliant processor; we never see full card numbers.
- No selling or renting of your data to anyone, ever.
3. How we use your data
- To notify you when the beta opens and to deliver the alerts you configure.
- To prevent spam and abuse of our forms.
- To understand aggregate traffic (how many people visit, which pages).
4. Data we access about competitor stores
StoreSentry reads publicly available catalog information from the competitor stores you ask us to monitor — the same data any visitor to those stores can see. We do not access private, authenticated, or personal data from those stores.
5. Data sharing and processors
We use a small number of service providers to run StoreSentry (hosting, email delivery). They process data only on our behalf and only to provide the service. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Data retention
Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or the waitlist is no longer needed. You can request deletion at any time (see contact below).
7. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have these rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR. To exercise them, email us and we'll respond promptly.
